The North Richland Hills Amateur Radio Club is partnering with BSA Troop 335 and Cub Scout Pack 335 in support of the 2023 Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) event. A celebration of scouting, communications and technology, JOTA connects scouts from across the globe. NRH hams will guide the scouts on the air, facilitating meaningful connections and lifelong skills. This event will be co-located with Pack 335’s Fall Fish-O-Ree event. Location: Capp Smith Park, Watauga, TX (South end of pond)

In addition to the on-air JOTA activity, there are several other activities tentatively planned for the scouts:

• CW / MORSE: Demonstration of a Morse key and learn how to send SOS and initials.
• Eyeball QSO Party: Scouts learn a call sign phonetically and yell out for “contacts” with other scouts
• Battleship: Scouts use chess boards and radios to play a game of Battleship single or paired teams
